Passports and Visas
Visitors to Turkey must have a 10-year passport – 5 year for children and must be valid for 6 months after your return date. British passport holders will need to purchase a £10 visa on arrival in Turkey. A Bank of England note must be presented prior to going to the immigration police at your arrival airport in Turkey. Irish and Scottish notes are not accepted and neither are coins.

Paying Locally
Credit cards are now widely accepted but may incur surcharges. A mixture of traveller's cheques and sterling cash with a credit card for back up will give the most flexibility. Scottish and Irish notes are not widely accepted.

Health and Safety
Due care and attention to the safety of yourself is made whilst selecting our properties but it is important to remember that many of the properties featured are also peoples homes or listed buildings and therefore it is not possible to meet some of the standards enjoyed in the UK. It is also not part of our policy to build walls and disfigure views and scenery for this purpose. We therefore ask that you familiarise yourself with safety procedures on arrival and take particular care if travelling with young children.

Swimming Pools:
Swimming pools vary in depth and due care must be taken by all members of your party to familiarise themselves with the depth of the pool. You will find as part of your arrival information, health and safety details for the property you will be staying in. Please ensure you read this to enjoy your stay to the full.

In privately owned villas the cleaning of the pool is the responsibility of the owner and we ask that you allow reasonable access to him. Please ensure that you observe any information given to you to get the full use of the pool and maximum enjoyment.

If your accommodation has an infinity pool, please take extra care, particularly with children as this style of pool will have an open drop from the pool edge.

Driving in Turkey
Many accommodations advertised on this website are situated on non-surfaced roads or tracks and approached by steep or uneven paths. Please take extra care when driving on non surfaced roads, as your car insurance does not cover the underside of the vehicle.

The standards of the roads have improved dramatically over the last 2 to 3 years with investment being made in crawler lanes for lorries and buses.

Petrol stations are very frequent on national roads. The majority of cars use "kursunsuz" or unleaded fuel pronounced “kur-shun-suz”. The cost of fuel is around the same as the UK.

Any guest booking car hire will be given driving instructions to their property, welcome letter with emergency contact details and other useful information to get you started.

You may refer to Car hire for more detailed information

Cots:
We have a limited number of cots available, which are pre-bookable, at a cost of £10 each. Cot linen and bedding will not be provided.

Flora and Fauna:
In hot climates, insects and other pests such as rodents, scorpions and snakes are fairly common and are not necessarily an indication of poor standards. Whilst property owners do their best to eradicate this, they are at the mercy of nature and cannot be held responsible. Mosquitoes can be a problem and whilst most of the properties advertised on this web site have repellent machines, you are advised to bring or buy mosquito repellent for the duration of your holiday.

General Accommodation Information
Electricity and water supplies can fluctuate or are sometimes unavailable due to local problems and most villas do not have a back up generator. Water is sometimes heated by solar power and therefore, especially in early or late season may be limited.

At time of writing, we do not charge for air-conditioning units in any of our properties, what we do ask is that you do not waste energy and turn off all units before leaving the villa.

Voltage in Turkey 220 volts and you will need to bring a 2-pin conversion plug for your personal electrical appliances.

Clean bed linen and towels are provided twice weekly and a light clean is done at least twice a week in all self -catering accommodation- but does vary from villa to villa. Service does not include ironing and washing up. Sunday is usually the day of rest.
